Kia Ora! We hope the last month has been a
great one for you and your team.
We’re really glad to have you with us, thank you for helping to make the roads a safer place in Māngere. Maybe the Rookie in your team has already managed to get their Learner licence? If so, congratulations on your first milestone!
Learning Tip #5
When you have your Restricted or Full licence test you’ll encounter roads you’ve never driven on before, but while you’re practicing the best thing to do is be on roads that are quiet and familiar to you.
Our top tip this month is about getting to know your practice route.
Before you head out to practice, ask your Coach to drive you through the route that you’re going to do for practice so you get familiar with it. When you’re planning your practice route with your team, consider:
What are you aiming to learn and what will be the best route to practice those driving skills?
Are they quiet streets for you to practice on?
What time of day will you be practicing? Avoid peak traffic times, particularly when you’re starting out.
- How much time do you have? Make sure you won’t be in a rush.
Thank you for committing to making the streets of Māngere a safer place!
